Hi, I'm William
I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Computer Science at Swinburne University, majoring in Data Science, and have a strong background in mathematics, including VCE Specialist Mathematics. I enjoy helping students build a genuine understanding of maths rather than simply memorising formulas, and I aim to make lessons clear, structured and easy to follow.
I love teaching maths because there's something really satisfying about seeing a concept finally click for a student. My goal is to make students feel more confident tackling problems on their own, while keeping lessons relaxed and encouraging.
Safety first. I hold a current Victorian Working with Children Check. For in-home lessons, a parent or guardian needs to be home.
How lessons work
Find the real gap
When a student is stuck on this week's topic, the cause is often something from a year or two back. We find it and fix it, then come back to the current work.
Stick with the school program
Lessons follow your child's textbook and test dates. Tutoring should make class easier, so the two need to line up.
Explain, then practise
New ideas get explained with worked examples, then practised until your child can do them on their own. Speed comes once it makes sense.
Keep parents in the loop
A quick note after every lesson and a proper check-in each term, so you always know how it's going.
